Iran’s Bigdeli elected to World ParaVolley Athletes' Commission

TEHRAN - Three-time Paralympic gold medalist Sadegh Bigdeli of Iran and Heidi Peters from Canada have been elected to the World ParaVolley Athletes' Commission.

Bigdeli will serve on the body as the representative of Asia-Oceania, while Peters will take up the position as a global representative.

Bigdeli beat compatriot Masoumeh Zarei Barouti in an online election. Barouti was previously the Asia-Oceania representative.

“I am very pleased to be a member of the World ParaVolley Athletes' Commission as a representative of all ParaVolley athletes of ParaVolley Asia-Oceania,” Bigdeli said.

“I hope with the cooperation of other members of the commission, my experience can be a good and fruitful activity for the development of sitting volleyball in the world.

“Without a doubt, we will be the voice of all players around the world to lead our excited sport in the top. Thank you to all who voted for me at this election,” the veteran sitting volleyball player concluded.
